Computer / IT Security Specialist

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Group MIS Manager, the candidate is responsible to design a secured network infrastructure and manage the day-to-day security operations for the Group’s network.

Principal Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the design of a secured network infrastructure for the Group.
• To manage day to day security operation of the network and against abnormal activities.
• To research in the latest industry security practices and technologies as well as emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• To perform vulnerability assessments and system health check of the network infrastructure.
• To perform investigation and system rescue in the event of occurance of disaster or system disruptions.
• To review the security incidents and providing expertise in remediation efforts.
• To review violations of computer security procedures and guideline and recommend for improvement in processes and procedures.
• To provide training and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.
• To assist the Group Techical Implementation and Support Team in the detailed technical design that meet customers’ network security requirements.

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic).
• Posses recognised computer security certification.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in information technology and security.

Essential Skills

• Techincal knowledge and experience in
  OS - Unix, Linux, Windows, VMware, Xen, Virtualbox
  Equipment - Cisco, HP, Juniper, F5, Dell, storage and wireless equipment
  Networking - TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, DNS, SSL, VPN, IPsec, LDAP, Radius, AD, NAC, NAP
  Database - Mysql, Oracle
  Application - Apache, IIS, wireshark, Kismet, nmap, corporate Antivirus
  Programming language - bash, python, java, php , sql injection, cross site scripting
  Others - Network forensics
  
• Good knowledge of Intrusion Detection and Prevention technologies, Firewall Management, rule creation and security evaluation.
• Good understanding of operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and technical security compliance evaluations.

• Good command of spoken and written English
• Must be highly self motivated, result oriented, strong orientation to internal customer service
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to identify, propose & execute improvement initiatives
