Group Corporate Development Assistant Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager – Group Corporate Development is responsible for the review and development of business plans, enterprise valuation models and management slideshow presentations for existing business ventures, new business opportunities or corporate development initiatives. The person is expected to assist the senior management to structure identified investment or new ventures in ways that meets the strategic and corporate objectives and applicable rules and regulations. He/she who occupies this position is also expected to carry out rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis and communicate orally and in writing the results and outcomes of such analyses in a logical and articulate manner. The Assistant Manager can expect extensive interaction with management personnel from different functions of the group as well as external parties, and also participate in strategic planning and corporate development initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities

• To manage researches and studies on prospective ventures and business opportunities including country research, company research, country foreign investment and exchange control policies, and tax regime/legislation.
• To prepare financial models for potential investments / new ventures and coordination with various functions within the group to establish options on the commercial and/or financing structure for potential investments / new ventures.
• To assist in structuring investments and/or acquisition transactions.
• To prepare relevant documents required for implementation of transactions structured, including but not limited to board papers and submission papers to relevant authorities.
• To prepare or assist in the preparation of circulars and/or prospectuses in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
• To liaise and work with external professionals/consultants or other relevant parties in the planning and implementation of transactions or initiatives.
• To conduct periodic review and report of execution of business plans of investments/new ventures concluded to ensure the identified synergies and values identified during the evaluation stage materializes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance, Professional accounting qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in corporate finance, financial advisory/consultancy or business analysis.
• Knowledge of listing rules and guidelines of securities exchange(s) is essential.

Essential Skills

• Excellent knowledge in financial modeling and advanced-charting skills especially with MS Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous and systematic.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills (including public announcements).
