Software Developer / Software Development Engineer

Position Summary

The Software Developer/ Software Development Engineer is a member of one of several development teams in Unifiedcomms that is responsible for building and enhancing the proprietary software that make up our solution and product portfolio targeting mobile telecoms network operators and integrated telecoms service providers . This position entails involvement in new product development as well as adaptation activities on existing software to faciliate implementation in a customer’s specific environment. Peer review exists at this level including code and design review. Fresh graduates with interest in programming are certainly encouraged to apply.

Principal Responsibilities

• To participate in the development, maintenance and support of application and platform software products and components.
• Translating business requirements into technical and system specifications;
• Designing, developing and testing software and systems.
• Enhancing and maintaining software and systems to a healthy and stable state.
• Work closely with the support team and the customer in order to meet challenging project delivery and time lines.
• Participate in research, design and development efforts to develop new products in line with established roadmaps.
• Research and explore new technologies in line with the product strategy and development direction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• At least 2 years and above of development experience/familiarity with either one of the essential skills listed below

Essential Skills

• C/C++, Java and its related technologies (i.e JSP/Servlet).
• Java frameworks and technologies (i.e Object-Relation Mapping, JMS).
• Prior experience with Javascript /Jquery.
• Databases: MySQL 4.1/5.0/5.
• Various open source technologies (Struts, Spring, Jasper, Ibatis).
• Shell scripting on UNIX platforms.
